Inktober 2020

Each year October comes around and so does the Inktober challenge. For the past four years, I’ve attempted to create 31 original ink drawings, one for each day of October. I usually make it to day six or seven and then life catches up to me. Once I miss a day, I put less pressure on myself to finish which is why I’ve never completed the challenge before.

This year was different though. With COVID limiting my social life and with a burst of creative energy, I was able to finish 31 days of drawings. I followed Sha’an d’Anthes prompt list for #Peachtober20. I used two Copic markers in Antwerp blue and Prawn pink with a little help from some Prismacolor pencils.

I was so proud to complete 31 drawings, and hope to carry this energy into 2021.

A Trip to New York

In December of 2018, I had the opportunity to travel to New York City and research various textile and craft art for my Senior Distinction Project. I was lucky enough to be featured on the University of Denver’s CAHSS website where you can find details of the trip and the grant I was awarded.

The following are pictures and sketches taken from my time traveling.
